Generate a Sitemap For Your Website

A sitemap is a representation of the architecture of a web site. It provides a general top-down view of the overall site contents. Sitemaps can improve search engine optimization of a website by making sure that all the pages can be found.

The most popular web search engines such as Google, MSN, Yahoo and Ask crawl the sitemaps of each website in order to have the most updated content. Sitemaps do not guarantee all links will be crawled, and being crawled does not guarantee indexing. However, a sitemap is still the best insurance for getting a search engine to learn about your website.

This online application will crawl the specified website and generate a sitemap that can be uploaded to your root directory. The sitemap must be named 'sitemap.xml' and uploaded to your hosted web server. A standard sitemap can contain up to 50,000 URLs but cannot exceed the size of 10MB.
